8 Days Spirit of Tanzania Safari covers Tarangire National Park known for huge herds of buffalos and elephants roaming freely. Lake Manyara National Park famed for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds. Serengeti National Park where you will witness vast herds of wildebeest and zebras and the highest concentration of lions. Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s greatest wildlife arenas and the biggest intact (unbroken) volcanic caldera on Earth. Lake Eyasi is famous for cultural tourism and home of the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and the Datoga pastoralists tribe.

Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you will head out to Tarangire National Park playing host to the Big Five, Tanzania’s largest concentration of elephants, and over 500 bird species. This enchanting park is renowned for its striking landscapes and expansive baobab tree-studded savannah featuring its majestic Tarangire River, which serves as a lifeline, attracting an array of wildlife. In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and proceed to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park
Drive further the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park set beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, a jewel famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds. With its varied ecosystems, you will see forest creatures, large baboon troops in addition to other animals like giraffes and elephants. Vast flamingo populations dot the lakeshore and interact with an array of bird species. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park
This day starts with an early breakfast at your hotel followed by a drive through Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park. You will head to the central part of the park known as the Seronera circuit which is very rich in wildlife habitat, the place is featured by the Seronera River that provides Water for the Animals. Enjoy game drives enroute arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park
Embark on a full day game drive with packed lunch in Serengeti National Park known for its vast open grasslands that provide excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings. This 15,000 sq km park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey which migrate throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons and African hares also inhabit the area along with nearly 500 species of birds. Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast exit Serengeti National Park to the bordering Ngorongoro Conservation Area descending down to the bottom of the crater, dotted with watering holes, shelters almost 30,000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the volcano’s slopes. You will find the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The Crater has the largest unbroken caldera in the world, surrounded by very steep walls that rise 2,000 ft from the floor. It is considered one of the natural world’s wonders and a veritable wildlife haven. Spectacular animal life can be observed throughout the year, thanks to the permanent availability of grass and water. At around 1630hrs start ascending from the floor of the crater and drive towards Karatu arriving at your hotel in time for dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 7: Ngorongoro – Lake Eyasi, Hadzabe and Datoga Tribes
Wake up early before sunrise, enjoy your breakfast then head out to Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival you will be met by our local guide whom you will follow until he finds the Hadzabe. The Hadzabe are a hunting community still practicing the ancient ways of getting food by using their traditional tools such as bows and arrows. On the other hand, you will explore the Datoga people who are still practising pastoralists and their traditional ways of life. After finishing the activities with the tribes, you will visit the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a shallow Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. (Optional) visit to a Maasai Village on your way to Arusha where you have the opportunity to learn and interact with the local Maasai Community. Maasais are popular and better-known ethnic people in East Africa due to their traditional origins from areas surrounding Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8: Lake Eyasi – Arusha
Enjoy a relaxed morning as you check out and bid farewell to the beautiful Ngorongoro/Karatu area for Arusha passing through Maasai villages and stunning countryside views. You will arrive in Arusha around noon followed by a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, Arusha Airport or your Arusha Hotel. Depending on your flight departure time we can arrange an extra Arusha City Tour. Meals: Breakfast
