Located on the Southern Part of Kenya about 275KMs from Nairobi, you will drive for approximately 6-7 hours skirting through the Great Rift Valley View Point and Narok Town. You will arrive at your camp in Masai Mara in time for lunch, check-in thereafter and head out for an introductory afternoon game drive. Masai Mara is popularly known for its breathtaking landscapes and plenty of wildlife making it one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations with high concentration of wildlife. The park’s open grasslands provide an ideal hunting grounds for the apex predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs.
On this day you can decide to start with an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari at an extra cost of $450 per person with champagne breakfast. Proceed with a full day game drive within the reserve in search of The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo). What amazes tourists in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeests. The animals shift in July and return in November and are among the seventh wonders of the world. Bird life is abundant as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species. Between 1600hrs and 1800hrs exit the park to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Optional early morning visit to the Maasai Village at an extra cost of $25 Per Person before returning back to your hotel for breakfast then checkout. You will have the opportunity to learn and interact with the local Maasai Community, popular and better-known ethnic people in East Africa due to their traditional origins from areas surrounding Masai Mara Game Reserve. Depart Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru with a lunch stop in Narok Town. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving at your hotel later in the evening, check-in, leisure time and dinner. If time permits you can have a short introductory game drive on your way to the hotel.
Early breakfast, checkout and embark on a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park in search of the big cats such as lions and leopards hunting before sunrise. Nakuru National Park is a standpoint and harbor for watching more than 400 species of birds in the rift valley with the main highlight being the flamingos forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore. The park is also a rhino sanctuary harboring a population of more than 100 black and white rhinos. At 1230hrs exit Nakuru park and drive further to Lake Naivasha arriving at your hotel in time for lunch. Choose to spend your afternoon at leisure or at an extra cost of $60 take a boat across the lake to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary for a guided nature walk strolling freely among giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles. While on the boat you will spot pods of hippos and a rich variety of birdlife including fish eagles, cormorants, and kingfishers.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, checkout and proceed to the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park for a morning game drive or walk with an option of riding a bike (at an extra cost of $20 Per Person). Hell’s Gate National Park is one of the places in Kenya where you can walk alongside wild animals as there are no predators. Take great pictures with an animal background as you descend down to the Hell’s Gate Gorge. At the Gorge, you can enjoy a guided nature walk with the local guides to spice up your Kenya safari memories. Later ascend to the gate, exit the park at around 1100hrs and drive further to Aberdare National Park with a stopover for Lunch in Nairobi. Proceed to Aberdare arriving at your hotel before sunset check-in, leisure and overnight stay.
Rise up early for breakfast, checkout and embark on a morning game drive in Aberdare National Park. This Park is home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. Enjoy your picnic lunch before departing for Ol Pejeta Conservancy around 1400hrs. You will arrive at your lodge or camp later in the evening, check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Rise up early for breakfast and embark on a morning game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy with a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary which aims to provide a refuge for chimpanzees rescued from the black market. It’s the only place in Kenya where these fascinating animals can be seen. The Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the Big Five (the endangered black and white rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and lion), Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest and cheetah. Enjoy your picnic lunch before departing for Samburu around 1400hrs. You will arrive at your lodge or camp later in the evening, check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Enjoy a full day game drive with parked lunch in search of the Northern special 5. The rare species animals include the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Gerenuk and the Besia Oryx. The rocky habitat makes it one of the most conducive environments for spotting a Leopard. Elephants are also abundant along the Ewaso Nyiro River. The famous Kamunyak lioness that adopted a baby Oryx is a resident of the reserve. Due to aridity conditions in the region, animals find water from oases within the park. The climate here is hot and semi-arid.
Rise early in the morning, breakfast, checkout and embark on another sunrise game drive as you exit the park. The best thing about sunrise games is that you stand high chances of spotting the big cats such as lions and cheetahs hunting as they are more active before sunrise. Exit the park around 1100hrs and drive back to Nairobi with lunch break in Nanyuki town (not included in the cost) arriving later in the afternoon followed by a drop off at Nairobi’s City Market.
