Itinerary

1

Day 1: Nairobi – Arrival

 

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel with dinner meal provided. Depending on your arrival time you can request for a Nairobi City Tour with lunch at an extra cost. There are plenty of activities and sight seeing in Nairobi including Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre, Bomas of Kenya, Karen Blixen Museum, Nairobi National Museum and Snake Park.

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Start your day early with breakfast and embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park with brief stops at the equator line, Thomson Falls and the Great Rift Valley escarpment past Nyahururu town. You will arrive in Nakuru in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is a standpoint and harbor for watching more than 400 species of birds in rift valley. As you visit the lake, game animals are in large numbers. Hippos, buffalos and many species of birds with Flamingos prominently notable. Nakuru National Park is home to few remaining Rhinos in Kenya and also offers great sightseeing of larger predators like the lions and Leopards.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast depart for Masai Mara National Reserve situated in south west of Kenya and popularly for its breathtaking landscapes and plenty of wildlife making it one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive as you traverse the vast savannahs and grasslands in search of wildlife. Masai Mara is renowned for its high concentration of predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah and the open grasslands provide an ideal hunting grounds for the apex predators.

Day 4: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Embark on a full day of game viewing within the reserve with packed lunch. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network which allows for close range viewing and photography. Masai Mara National Reserve is famous for The Big Five animals (Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhinos and Buffalo). What amazes travelers in this reserve is the annual migration of wildebeests. The animals shift on July and return on November and is among the seventh wonder of the world. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Bird life is in plenty as wildlife at the Mara, which boasts over 400 different bird species.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park

Rise up early for breakfast and depart for Serengeti National Park. Today’s drive will involve border closing and change of driver guides after completing immigration and border formalities. With your Tanzania safari guide drive to the main Serengeti National Park gate and embark on an afternoon game drive as you drive towards your camp or lodge. You will arrive just in time for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay. It will be a long day of driving but the game drives going in and out of the parks can be surprisingly incredible.

Day 6: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

This day is scheduled for a full day game drive with packed in Serengeti National Park which is famous for the big cats and endless plains. The park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including over 1 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are also attracted by plenty of prey which migrate throughout the park. Get to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration during the moth of June to September as huge groups of wildebeests and zebras move to the neighboring Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve in search of green pastures.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start your day with an early morning breakfast then check out with a game drive as you drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area a world heritage UNESCO site. The sunrise game drive in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have as you get to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noahs Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Arusha

Very early in the morning, descend down to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of Africa’s seven natural wonders. The crater was formed two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem, now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa! In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wild life in the planet.

It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusk, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. You will enjoy your picnic lunch near the hippo lake after which you will ascent up the steep road out of the crater and transfer to Arusha.

Day 9: Arusha – Departure

End your Kenya & Tanzania Safari with a leisurely breakfast before checking out from your hotel and dropped off at the airport for your flight back home. Depending on your departure time you can arrange with your guide for Arusha City Tour. Arusha is a small town nestled in the shadow of Mount Meru with commanding views of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. Take a peek into daily lives of the locals by exploring the busy bus station of Arusha, see where the Maasai’s unique clothing style is sold at the clothing market, explore the fascinating archaeological artifacts at the Boma German Museum or browse the local art scene and cultural souvenir market.
