Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Arrival

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel with dinner meal provided. Depending on your arrival time you can request for an Arusha City Tour with lunch at an extra cost. There are plenty of activities and sight seeing in Arusha including Cultural Heritage Centre, Maasai Market of Curios and Crafts, Meserani Snake Park, Arusha National Park and Mount Meru Waterfall.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Rise up for breakfast, checkout and then drive across the Great Rift Valley until Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive. Lake Manyara National Park lies between Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, right along the 400 meters deep Great Rift Valley. Although small in dimension (205 sq. miles), the park has breathtaking scenery and well famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees, as well as to a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys.

The lush green vegetation consisting of tall trees of the ground water forest, the tree climbing lions, the soda lake inhabited with thousands of pink-hued flamingos, large water birds and the troops of baboons and blue monkeys and the rift valley escarpment make your safari to this area unforgettable. Enjoy picnic lunch there after in the afternoon transfer to Tarangire National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park

Very early in the morning, descend down to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of Africa’s seven natural wonders. The crater was formed two million years ago when a vast volcano erupted. The fertile lava has created a unique ecosystem, now home to the highest concentration of animals found anywhere in Africa! In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wild life in the planet.

It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusk, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. You will enjoy your picnic lunch near the hippo lake after which you will ascent up the steep road out of the crater and transfer to Lake Manyara for overnight stay.

Day 4: Manyara – Serengeti National Park

Rise up early for breakfast and depart for Serengeti National Park. Today’s drive will involve border closing and change of driver guides after completing immigration and border formalities. With your Tanzania safari guide drive to the main Serengeti National Park gate and embark on an afternoon game drive as you drive towards your camp or lodge. You will arrive just in time for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay. It will be a long day of driving but the game drives going in and out of the parks can be surprisingly incredible.

Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

This day is scheduled for a full day game drive with packed in Serengeti National Park which is famous for the big cats and endless plains. The park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including over 1 million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are also attracted by plenty of prey which migrate throughout the park. Get to experience the Great Wildebeest Migration during the moth of June to September as huge groups of wildebeests and zebras move to the neighboring Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve in search of green pastures.

Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Start your day with an early morning breakfast then check out with a game drive as you drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area a world heritage UNESCO site. The sunrise game drive in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have as you get to spot the animals when they are more active and also to have a fantastic sun rise in front of you. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noahs Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi – Arusha

Wake up very early just before sunrise for your breakfast, checkout and embark your journey to Lake Eyasi looking for the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last true nomadic tribes in Africa. Upon arrival you will join them in their daily morning activities. This experience is out of the beaten track and does not feel touristic by any means. The photographic opportunities are out of this world. This tour will definitely be a highlight of your safari. The experiences you do with the tribe can either be joining the men in their daily hunting, or the women in their fruit gathering session. In either of them, you will learn about many aspects of the Hadzabe way of living. After finishing the activities with the tribe, we will visit the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a season shallow Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Later in the afternoon enjoy your picnic lunch and then drive to Arusha in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Arusha – Departure

End your KTanzania Safari with a leisurely breakfast before checking out from your hotel and dropped off at the airport for your flight back home. Depending on your departure time you can arrange with your guide for Arusha City Tour. Arusha is a small town nestled in the shadow of Mount Meru with commanding views of the mighty Mount Kilimanjaro. Take a peek into daily lives of the locals by exploring the busy bus station of Arusha, see where the Maasai’s unique clothing style is sold at the clothing market, explore the fascinating archaeological artifacts at the Boma German Museum or browse the local art scene and cultural souvenir market.
