6 Days Classic Kenya Safari Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi (Arrival)

Upon Arrival at the airport you will be transferred to your hotel in Nairobi. Check in, Dinner & Overnight Stay. Depending on your arrival time you can arrange with your driver guide for the Nairobi City Tour at an extra cost. Some of the places you can visit in Nairobi include but not limited to Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Center, Nairobi National Museum, Bomas of Kenya and Lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant for Exotic meat.

Day 2Nairobi - Amboseli

Breakfast and morning at leisure with an option of visiting either Giraffe Center or Nairobi National Museum or both, lunch and then join other travelers from Naivasha and depart for Amboseli National Park. You will arrive at your lodge or camp later in the evening, checkin, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3Amboseli National Park

Rise up early for breakfast and embark on a full day game drive with parked lunch as you enjoy good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephants at close range. Your game drive will take you to the observation hill to have a better overall view of the park including the adjacent marshy swamps. Wildlife is abundant in this park together with pelicans and other bird species. Your game viewing will be spread to cover the open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland.

Day 4Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park

Early checkout with parked breakfast and begin your day with a sunrise game drive offering a chance to see big cats hunting and perfect views of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. Against this magnificent backdrop roams vast herds of elephants accompanied by a mixture of other fabulous beasts like lion, buffalos, cheetahs and giraffes to name but a few. At around 0830hrs exit the park and drive further to Tsavo West National Park arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive.

Day 5Tsavo West National Park

Enjoy a full day game drives in this most visited section of the Tsavo National Park which offers many attractions apart from its wildlife. The foremost is the famous Mzima Springs where up to 227.3 million liters of cool crystal clear water flows out of the ground through porous volcanic rocks. The water is believed to originate from Chuyulu Hills, via an underground river.

Other interesting places to visit are the Roaring Rocks, which get their name from the wind that hurtles through them. From here there are wonderful views over Tsavo from the top of a 98m rock face; similar views can be experienced from the poachers lookout. The volcanic Chaimu Crater, less Than 200years old and composed of black coke, is worth visiting and can be climbed if one is interested.

Day 6Tsavo West – Nairobi

After breakfast you can decide to extend your safari to the coast (Mombasa, Diani or Malindi) by train with a drop off at Voi Train Station or drive back to Nairobi arriving later in the afternoon followed by a transfer to the Airport or Nairobi Hotel.
